Rental Term

All of our contents policies provide 12 months cover. However, we would like to know how long your rental term is. This allows us to anticipate changes you might want to make to your insurance cover when your initial rental term ends and we will be ready to help you, when the time comes.

Contents Cover

Your contents will be covered on a 'NEW for OLD' basis, so you will need to enter the total replacement cost for all your contents as if they were new.

If you are not sure how much cover you will need, imagine 'turning your home upside down'. Everything that falls out, which you own or are legally responsible for, will need to be covered under contents cover. Add up the cost of replacing these items as new (including carpets but allowing for the depreciation in value of clothing due to wear and tear) and this is how much cover you will need.

Note:
If you are planning to specify a valuable item which you take out of the home, you do not need to include it in with your contents cover.
Please see "Additional Cover Options Available" below.
Total Excess

An excess is the contribution you pay towards a claim. You can choose a voluntary excess in addition to any compulsory excess included in your policy. A higher voluntary excess may help you reduce your premium.
